Sometimes weight loss, healthy eating, and exercise get you close to your goal—but certain pockets of fat simply don’t seem to respond. Lipodissolve, also known as Liquid Lipo or injection lipolysis, is a nonsurgical injectable treatment designed to target small, localized areas of unwanted subcutaneous fat. At The Whole You Wellness Center, Lipodissolve is part of our personalized approach to body contouring. Rather than treating the number on the scale, we evaluate the specific area that is bothering you and determine whether injectable fat reduction is appropriate for your body and your goals. No surgery. No incisions. No general anesthesia.
Lipodissolve has been used internationally in aesthetic medicine for many years and is commonly associated with a technique known as injection lipolysis or mesotherapy.
The treatment uses a series of small injections placed directly into targeted subcutaneous fat.
Our compounded formulation contains:
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) + Sodium Deoxycholate (DC)
These ingredients have a long history of use in injection-lipolysis protocols.
The deoxycholate component disrupts the membranes of fat cells within the treated area.
This produces a localized inflammatory response. Over the following weeks, the body gradually clears cellular debris from the treated area, resulting in a reduction in the volume of the targeted fat pocket.
This process takes time.
Lipodissolve isn’t designed to produce overnight weight loss. Instead, the goal is a gradual improvement in the contour of a specific problem area.
This distinction is important.
Lipodissolve works best when we can identify a localized, pinchable pocket of subcutaneous fat.
It isn’t intended to treat visceral abdominal fat or replace medical weight management, healthy nutrition, or physical activity.
If your primary concern is overall weight, our medical weight-management program may be more appropriate.
If you’ve already lost weight—or you’re close to your desired weight—but have a stubborn pocket that remains, Lipodissolve may be an option.
Depending on your anatomy and individual evaluation, Lipodissolve may be considered for localized fat involving areas such as:
Not every area—or every patient—is appropriate for treatment.
Your consultation allows us to determine whether the concern is actually subcutaneous fat or whether skin laxity, visceral fat, muscle tone, or another issue is contributing to the appearance.
We begin by evaluating the area you’d like to improve, your medical history, your goals, and the amount and distribution of subcutaneous fat.
Baseline photographs and measurements allow us to objectively follow your progress throughout your treatment series.
Your provider carefully maps the treatment area according to your individual anatomy and the size of the localized fat pocket.
A topical numbing medication may be applied before treatment to improve comfort.
A series of small injections is strategically placed throughout the mapped treatment area.
The amount of medication and number of injection points are individualized according to the size of the treatment field and your anatomy.
Swelling and tenderness are expected as part of the treatment response.
Depending on the area treated, compression may be recommended following your procedure.
You’ll receive individualized aftercare instructions before leaving the office.
Lipodissolve should be thought of as a treatment series rather than a one-time procedure.
Many patients may require approximately 2–4 treatments for a localized area, although the number varies according to:
We reassess your progress before recommending another treatment.
Your body needs time to complete the inflammatory and clearing process following Lipodissolve.
At The Whole You Wellness Center, we generally reassess approximately 6 weeks after treatment.
When another session is appropriate, treatments are generally performed approximately 6–8 weeks apart, allowing the previous treatment response to settle before deciding how much additional treatment is necessary.
Lipodissolve results develop gradually.
Early changes may become noticeable within the first several weeks, while continued improvement may occur as swelling resolves and the body processes the treated tissue.
Because everyone responds differently, we evaluate progress using your photographs, measurements, physical examination, and your personal treatment goals.
Final results should be evaluated after the treatment area has completely settled and the recommended treatment series has been completed.
Swelling is expected following Lipodissolve and is part of the inflammatory response produced by the treatment.
Temporary effects may include:
The area can temporarily feel larger or firmer before it begins to look smaller.
Depending on the treatment area, a compression garment may be recommended to improve comfort during recovery.
Your provider will explain what is normal following treatment and when you should contact the office.
Lipodissolve and Kybella are related—but they aren’t the same treatment.
Kybella® is the brand name for an injectable medication containing deoxycholic acid. It is specifically approved for improving moderate-to-severe fat beneath the chin in adults.
Lipodissolve / PC-DC uses a compounded formulation containing phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate and has historically been used in injection-lipolysis protocols for localized areas of subcutaneous fat.
During your consultation, we’ll determine which treatment approach—if any—is appropriate for the area you want to improve.
These treatments solve two very different problems.
Designed to address overall weight and metabolic health.
Designed to address specific localized pockets of subcutaneous fat.
And sometimes the two approaches complement each other.
For example, someone may successfully lose a significant amount of weight but still have a stubborn lower-abdominal pocket, bra roll, or other localized area that doesn’t match the rest of their transformation.
That’s where targeted body contouring may become part of the conversation.
Pricing is based on the size of the treatment area and the amount of treatment required.
A small localized pocket and an extended abdominal treatment field don’t require the same amount of treatment, so your exact price is established after evaluation.
Treatment-series options may be available when multiple sessions are recommended.
You may be a good candidate if you:
The best way to know is to let us evaluate the area.
At The Whole You Wellness Center, we don’t choose a treatment simply because it’s available.
We evaluate what is actually creating the concern and help determine the most appropriate approach for your goals.
For one person, that may mean medical weight management.
For another, it may mean Lipodissolve.
For someone dealing primarily with skin laxity, cellulite, or contour concerns, Venus Legacy body contouring may be a better fit.
The goal is the right treatment for the right concern.
