What Is Lipodissolve

Injection lipolysis, targeted to one stubborn area

Lipodissolve — also known as Liquid Lipo or injection lipolysis — uses a series of small injections placed directly into targeted subcutaneous fat. Our compounded formulation contains phosphatidylcholine (PC) and sodium deoxycholate (DC), ingredients with a long history of use in injection-lipolysis protocols.

The deoxycholate component disrupts the membranes of fat cells in the treated area, producing a localized response the body gradually clears over the following weeks — resulting in a reduction in the volume of the targeted fat pocket. This is a gradual process, not an overnight change.

An Important Distinction

Body contouring — not weight loss

1

Lipodissolve works best on a localized, pinchable pocket

It isn't intended to treat visceral abdominal fat or replace medical weight management, nutrition, or physical activity.

Already close to your goal weight?

If you've lost weight — or you're near your desired weight — but a stubborn pocket remains, Lipodissolve may be an option.

Concerned about overall weight?

Our medical weight-management program may be more appropriate for your goals.

Where It Helps

Areas Lipodissolve may treat

Depending on your anatomy and individual evaluation, Lipodissolve may be considered for localized fat involving:

Abdomen Chin Flanks / love handles Bra-line and back fat Upper arms Inner or outer thighs Small localized fat pockets

Not every area — or every patient — is appropriate for treatment. Your consultation allows us to determine whether the concern is subcutaneous fat, or whether skin laxity, visceral fat, muscle tone, or another issue is contributing to the appearance.

The Process

What happens during treatment

A treatment series, mapped and monitored by your provider from start to finish.

01

Consultation & Assessment

We evaluate the area, your medical history, goals, and the amount and distribution of subcutaneous fat.

02

Measurements & Mapping

Baseline photos and measurements are taken, and your provider maps the treatment area to your anatomy.

03

Lipodissolve Injections

A topical numbing option is available. A series of small injections is placed throughout the mapped area.

04

Post-Treatment Care

Swelling and tenderness are expected. Compression may be recommended, with individualized aftercare instructions.

Timeline & Recovery

What to expect, honestly

Lipodissolve results develop gradually. We evaluate your progress using photographs, measurements, and physical examination before recommending another session.

How Many Treatments

Many patients require approximately 2–4 treatments for a localized area, depending on size and desired improvement.

How Far Apart

We generally reassess about 6 weeks after treatment; sessions are typically 6–8 weeks apart.

When You'll See Results

Early changes may appear within the first several weeks; continued improvement follows as swelling resolves.

Temporary Effects

Swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, and temporary firmness are expected as part of the treatment response.

How It Compares

Choosing the right treatment

Lipodissolve vs. Kybella®

Kybella® is a brand-name injectable containing deoxycholic acid, specifically approved for fat beneath the chin. Lipodissolve uses a compounded PC-DC formulation historically used for localized areas of subcutaneous fat elsewhere on the body. During your consultation, we'll determine which approach — if any — fits the area you want to improve.

Lipodissolve vs. Weight-Loss Medication

Medical weight management / GLP-1 therapy addresses overall weight and metabolic health. Lipodissolve addresses specific, localized pockets of fat. The two approaches often complement each other — which is where targeted body contouring becomes part of the conversation.

Transparent Pricing

Pricing based on treatment area

A small localized pocket and an extended treatment field don't require the same amount of treatment, so your exact price is set after evaluation. Treatment-series options may be available.

Starting at $300

Based on the size of the treatment area and the amount of treatment required. Confirmed at your consultation.

Your Body Doesn't Need a One-Size-Fits-All Solution

The right treatment for the right concern

We don't choose a treatment simply because it's available. For one person, that may mean medical weight management. For another, it may mean Lipodissolve. For someone dealing primarily with skin laxity or cellulite, Venus Legacy body contouring may be a better fit.

Questions

Frequently asked

How many treatments will I need? Most patients need approximately 2–4 treatments for a localized area, spaced about 6–8 weeks apart.
Is Lipodissolve the same as Kybella®? Related, but not the same. Kybella® is FDA-approved for fat beneath the chin; Lipodissolve uses a compounded formulation for other localized areas.
Will this help me lose overall weight? No — Lipodissolve is body contouring for localized fat, not a weight-loss treatment. Ask us about medical weight management if that's your goal.
Does insurance cover this? Lipodissolve is a self-pay cosmetic treatment. We'll walk through pricing clearly at your consultation.
